Boccini Luigi

Boccini Luigi : The Master Boccini Luigi born on 14/01/1939 is an artist that reproduce faithfully in ceramic the classical masterpieces from the '500,'600 and the '800. After a period of training in an old craft factory of Deruta, thanks to his own natural talent for drawing and ceramics decoration, especially in the human figure, he started on his own. The Master Boccini likes to reproduce on ceramic subcjects from "il Perugino" and "Botticelli" (from whom he has a wide collection of prints) on plates, vases, tiles,or panels from various size. The elegance of the stroke and the beauty of the colors he uses for these reproductions, are beautifully uncomparable. The variety of the themes, painted and decorated, and their own singularity made them as a collection pieces. The Master Boccini works only with three colors typical from the old tradition of Deruta: blu, dark green and bright orange. From these colors he obtains all the gradations giving the impression that more colors are presents in the composition.

Boccini Nicola

&Artistic Director: Nicola Boccini : born in Deruta, after having obtained a degree at the Academy of Fine Arts of Perugia, in the Sculpture department, directed his attention to a more profound study of the technology of ceramics, and to the search for new types of clay, new enamels and natural colors. Experimentation is always present in his works, with various mixtures of metals and soils, enamels and natural oxidants, making his works unique and sometimes non-repeatable. His training is of a classical nature in the decoration and painting of ceramics, but contemporary in the area of sculpture. He often combines various materials like iron, wood, bronze etc to create sculptures with interesting aesthetic results. Various travels and cultural exchange programs, as well as teaching assignments undertaken in Italy and abroad, have brought him today to have full knowledge of almost all the techniques existing in the world of ceramics. With this knowledge, he also creates performances or happenings around Europe. Since 1995 he is the head of the programs on Ceramics in Italy and Europe with various courses financed by the F.S.E., in 1997 he created the C.L.S. (Free Experimental Ceramics), and in 2000 he created along with other artists and master ceramicists a School of Ceramic Art. Romano Ranieri

Romano Ranieri was born in Torgiano (Perugia - Umbria - Italy) in 1935. Fifty years of experience living with the humility of the great masters and his never-ending pursuit of perfection have made him one of world?s top masters in the application of sophisticated ceramic techniques. His ability to transfer artistic expressions found in other mediums (sculpture, oil on canvas, fresco or watercolor) to the ceramic medium is limitless. His work is displayed all over the world, in prestigious galleries, at the museum of modern art in Basilea, in numerous churches, and in the streets and in city squares of many cities. For example, 52 ceramic panels each measuring approximately 60 x 40 inches in Chicago are on display at the Scalabrignano institute in North Lake; they portray the most significant moments of the New Testament. He does not want to be talked about for himself: his aspiration instead is to leave, through his work, a mark of quality, and to become an inspiration and a goal to surpass for future generations. His constant challenge with the masters of the past on which he based all his work, raising his objectives and hoping that his ending point would be the starting point for future generations.
